Adorable Turkey Cookies from Nutter Butters

02 October

Thanksgiving is a time of family, food, and fun. It is a time we reflect on the blessings we have been given.

Some of those blessings really like to "help" in ways that are not so helpful.

So we came up with a cute little turkey cookie they could help with! No baking needed, and lots of choices they can make on their own; plus all the sugar they could ever want!

These turkey cookies are sure to make fun memories for your Thanksgiving!

Ingredients for Turkey Cookies:

  • Nutter Butters
  • Oreos
  • Regular size Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • Icing (we used decorators icing, but any icing that stays put will work)
  • mini M&Ms
  • jellybeans

How to Assemble Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

Start by placing icing on the back of your peanut butter cup and sticking it to a Nutter Butter.

Then using more icing to hold them in place stand both the Nutter Butter and peanut butter cup up on an Oreo.
I had Nathan do a lot of the icing, so I could take pictures.
Of course your helpers also need to eat all the broken cookies along the way!

Then draw on the faces with icing.  It is pretty much just making a fat T with the icing, so you can add eyes, a beak, and a waddle (the little hanging down thingy).

Add 2 mini M&Ms for eyes, an orange jelly bean for the beak, and a red jelly bean for the waddle.

Now comes the really fun part! Hand all the jelly beans to the kids and let them choose 5 "feathers" for each turkey.

Squirt icing across the top of the peanut butter cup, so they can add the jelly beans for feathers.

We also added two yellow jelly beans at the bottom of the Nutter Butter for feet.

Then you have cute little turkeys for your Thanksgiving get together!

Oh, not that little turkey. You have cute little turkey cookies!

And all the little turkeys will be thrilled with these cookies! Not only because they are sugar packed, but because they helped!
