S'm'oreos a perfect upgrade from the typical s'more

S'm'oreos a perfect upgrade from the typical s'more

S'mores are a classic bonfire treat, but this upgraded version, the s'm'oreo is just as easy and even sweeter!

I saw a picture with no link to this, and thought, that looks easy and yummy, so why not! All it takes is a simple swap, and you get an extra sweet and chocolaty s'more.

Supplies for S'm'oreos

  • Oreos (whatever your favorites are; I do nothing less than double stuffed)
  • Large marshmallows
  • Chocolate bars

Those ingredients should sound really similar as we just replaced the classic graham cracker with Oreos.

How to Assemble S'm'oreos

I honestly didn't even make these with a bonfire for my test batch!

I started by turning my oven to broil and lining a cookie sheet with foil to catch any mess. Then I un-twisted my Oreos and placed the side without cream filling on the cookie sheet.

Then add a marshmallow on top of each cookie.  The flat ones worked well even though I really wanted round ones since Oreos are round.  I think if you took a big round one and cut it in half to make shorter round ones they would be perfect.

Place these on the top rack of your oven for just a little bit. Seriously don't leave the kitchen unless you want burnt marshmallows.

We started placing the chocolate on the other side of the cookie on top of the cream filling while the marshmallows got toasty.

Watch the marshmallows closely, so you get the perfect degree of toastiness for you; then pull them out. Honestly, this is so much faster and easier than a bonfire, but of course, the oven is not nearly as exciting.

Immediately top with chocolate and cream side of cookie.  Allow to set a few moments for it all to melt together and cool just a bit. Then enjoy!

Making S'm'oreos with a Bonfire

I made my first batch in the oven, but they are as easy as s'mores at a bonfire. Just toast your marshmallow over the fire, open your Oreo and assemble.

And if you want something even easier, replace your Oreo with fudge stripe cookies! They are more similar to the classic s'more, but easier as the chocolate is already on the cookie, so you don't have to add anything except a toasted marshmalllow!
